Background of the Organization

Grameen Vikas Sanstha has been setup as a non-Government organization to cater to the various needs of women, children, old people, and youth in rural & urban (slums). The founding members were firm in their belief that poor people especially had the right to enjoy the highest attainable standards of physical mental, economic and social. The major concern was that this right still clouded a majority of them due to their unequal status in society. Acknowledging that issues are closely intertwined constructive efforts need to be made towards integrated development of the community in which they have their roots.

Organization having trained & well skilled human resources include area specific experts & training experts, sufficient assets & infrastructure (Current Value of Assets almost- 160 Lac), networking & linkages with govt. & non govt. departments, extensive experience of relevant field project planning, implementation, service delivery & monitoring & evaluation.

  • Urban Health Initiative to Support NUHM in Aligarh, Meerut, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Etah & Hathras.
  • Targeted Intervention on HIV prevention for FSW & IDUs community in Meerut
  • Targeted Intervention on HIV prevention for Truckers community in Ghaziabad
  • Prevention of Parents to Child Transmission (PPTCT) for HIV Prevention & Treatment of HIV + mothers in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh and Saharanpur
  • Axshay project for TB awareness & Treatment in Meerut
  • Transit Migrant program for HIV awareness for Migrant population in Meerut
  • To promote DIMPA contraceptive in Meerut by Abt Associates
