ABT Associates- Leveraging the private sector to expand contraceptive choice projects
This program has been implemented by GRAVIS from June 2014 to Sep, 2014 with joint funding by “The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation” and PR Abt Associates Inc.
The aim of this program is to improve choices for women in Uttar Pradesh by increasing knowledge of, access to and use of an expanded basket of contraceptives including Injectable Contraceptives.
The Objective of this program is to Increase demand for and satisfied use of modern FP methods including DMPA through interpersonal, media and telephone based behavior change communication.

Activities conducted during the program- 300 Street Play shows conducted in Meerut

Mid Media activities interactive and engaging, followed by question answer session and IPC

  • Minimum 3 shows have been conducted on daily basis.
  • Women will be approached at end of show by counselors and counseled on DMPA and provided referral information.
  • Men will be given referral information on clinic.
  • Weekly meeting with the team will need to be organized to share the route map and prior weekly reporting of activity done with Abt field Staff.
Achievement of the program
This program was successfully implemented by the us and we have organized 300 shows which has been given by the Abt. Associate.
