The organization has been successfully implemented the programme of Help Age India funded by Help The Aged U.K. since 1998 in Meerut (U.P.). Under this programme GRAVIS has adopted 55 most vulnerable older people of the society and their social and economic condition was very miserable.
Providing Food, Cloths and Medicines- We make available food grains (wheat, rice and pulses) to older people. We have also provided seasonal clothes. When they suffer from any seasonal or other diseases, GRAVIS takes care with proper treatment.
Linkages with Govt. schemes- GRAVIS has also linked most of the beneficiaries with the Govt. schemes like Indira AwasYojana, Old Age Pension etc. For this, GRAVIS advocates village level to District level stakeholders.
Strengthening of Income Generation Activities- GRAVIS has also motivate and provide financial help to the older person for income generation activities (such as to make SHG’s, Goat keeping, and Petty shops). The result is that they are improving their livelihoods through these activities.
We have also organized a social event in which we have counseled the family members and community members to respect their older people.
Accomplishments- 55 elderly people have survived in better condition where the needs of their daily routine are fulfilled up to a possible and considerable extent.
