GRAVIS has implemented this program since 2011 in the districts of Meerut, Ghaziabad & Saharanpur with an objective to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS to the infant from its HIV positive mother. In this program we referred the ANC women for HIV testing at PPTCT centre located in the Government Women Hospitals and Medical hospitals of the district. If any of these women were detected as positive we connected her to ART centre for CD4 testing and other related treatments. We also had frequent follow ups with these women and her child till the new born was 18 months old. Their weekly/monthly medical follow ups included tests such as Nevirapine, CPT, etc. Our organization has had 100% success rate in this program. This means that not a single new born in our care was tested positive with the HIV infection
In duration of the programme about 1076 patients were registered at UCCC which included total no. of In Patient services (new and revisit) 1495 and Out Patient services (new and revisit) 793. The male female ratio of HIV patients registered at CCC is 60%: 40%. The ORWs visited to the patient’s home for address verification, encouraging them to maintain adherence level, trace out miss and LFU patient. One of the ORW visit to ART centre regularly on working days to motivate the patients and introduce them about CCC.
During this program we organized Health camps at different places and the No. of 100 general people, FSW and MSM. They were counseled about Positive living and Positive prevention. Promoting Access To Care and Treatment for the general and backward people equally.
